The microporous filter membrane is made of polymer chemistry materials and pore forming additives after special treatment and coated on the support layer. In the application of membrane separation technology, microporous membrane is a widely used membrane type. It is simple and easy to use, and is widely used in scientific research, food inspection, chemical engineering, nanotechnology, energy and environmental protection.
The microporous filter membrane is mainly made of refined nitrocellulose, and an appropriate amount of cellulose acetate, acetone, n-butanol, ethanol, etc. is added. It has hydrophilic, non-toxic, and hygienic properties. It is a porous membrane filtration material with a relatively uniform pore size distribution, which can penetrate micropores with a pore size of 80 ‰. It is mainly used for the filtration of water-based solutions, therefore also known as water-based membranes.
Microporous filter membranes are divided into hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity. From a structural analysis, microporous membranes are a very thin membrane with a porous sponge like structure inside. The common pore size range is 0.1 microns to 10 microns. Nowadays, microporous membrane manufacturers classify them according to their morphological differences as follows:
Flat membrane, hollow fiber membrane, and tubular membrane. Among them, flat thin paper filter membranes can be further divided into two types: "unsupported flat thin paper filter membranes" (unsupported) and "supported flat thin paper filter membranes" (supported). According to the technical requirements required for these two manufacturing processes, the production process of "unsupported thin paper filter membranes" is more precise and complex than that of "supported thin paper filter membranes".
Microporous membrane filtration is a screening process, and microporous filtration refers to filtration technology that can filter out 0.1 μ M to 10 μ M particles. Generally speaking, there are two types of filtration mechanisms: surface type and deep type. Microporous filtration membrane is a screening process that belongs to filtration. The filtration mechanism of MF membrane manufactured through technology is surface filtration.
Due to the fixed pore size of the microporous membrane filter, the accuracy and reliability of the filter can be ensured. Deep filtration is divided into two types: unfixed irregular pore size and fixed irregular pore size. The former, such as filter elements wrapped in chemical fibers, is usually only used for rougher prefilters.
